“Real Men and Women of Madison Avenue” Exhibit Comes to Chicago

When we think of MadMen, we see sharp looking executives with a glass of scotch and a cigarette to match. While this may have been true to the time period, the Real Men and Women of Madison Avenue exhibit shows that some of the most well renowned and influential creatives of our time were so much more than that.
The exhibit spans 8 years and highlights over 150 examples of Print and Television advertising, focusing on the evolution of the industry. It includes more than 200 advertisements and lets us in to the world of the high conceptual human. Showcasing works from Bernice Fitz-Gibbon, George Lois, Lee Clow, Goodby, Silverstein & Partner’s, Mary Wells, David Ogilvy, and Shirley Polykoff and more, this exhibit delves in to the insight and creative process of some of the most famous names in advertising.
Created by the One Club, The Real Men and Women of Madison Avenue recently left New York City for the first time to show in Chicago. Placed from April 8-29, It was sponsored by Leo Burnett and DDB and displayed in one of the country’s premier media arts schools, Columbia College. Presented in the school’s Congress Gallery, creatives from all over the Chicago-land area attended to pay respects to their predecessors.
The exhibit is currently touring other cities across America before it heads to Toronto, Canada.
